Daniel & Maddie

Daniel lived a pretty banal existence. His life consisted of a 9-to-5 job as a mortician and occasional religious gatherings. As a result of the bottomless pit of betrayal that characterized his late ' relationship, the thought of a soulmate—let alone having children—left much to be desired.
That conviction quickly changed when he met Madilyn, a neighbor he caught brutalizing the garbage can outside his house. Her dark hair and unapologetic display of rage spoke to her boldness and instantly sparked his interest. Maddie turned out to be quirky, impulsive, and audacious as much a misfit as he felt. Falling in love therefore naturally followed, along with an unplanned pregnancy that was received with open arms. Soon, baby Grace—his pride and joy—was born.

Kaelyn & Coty Bui

Where their respective parents failed, Kaelyn and Coty succeeded.
Before they were even born, their parents—high school sweethearts—quickly eloped after graduation, only for their marriage to crash and burn due to adultery. Both parents separately rebuilt their lives and had children of their own: Kaelyn and Coty. The two of them ironically became high school sweethearts as well, without being aware of their parents' history. Needless to say, the tension between both families was palpable once their relationship was out in the open. Coty's mother feared that Kaelyn would betray her son the same way her father betrayed her, but she was wrong. If only she had lived long enough to see the beautiful couple they've become and to meet their beautiful granddaughter, Christin.

Katlyn & Connor Ruiz

 

Connor and Katlyn's story started as a simple crush for her 2nd cousin that seemed implausible at the time. They both had different views on almost everything, different lifestyles, relationship goals, chemistry, views on family and attraction.
Connor lived a bachelor life, free-spirited just like his mother was, whereas Katlyn embraced her tomboy core and her love for cats. She knew very well that she was nowhere near his type but still managed to seduce him. An unplanned pregnancy sprouted from that single lustful encounter, thus compelling Connor into honoring her by asking her to marry him. It was the right thing to do; not only for her but also for continued peace within the family, even though the emotional connection was not there.

They soon became one of the most enamored couples. Their bond remained unshaken even after through two tragic miscarriages. They are expecting once more and hope to finally become parents. Katlyn is due at any given moment, and we can only hope that they receive the miracle baby they longed for.

 

When Laughter Turns to Silence

Daniel and Maddie's relationship was not without its challenges. It is true that he could have been more considerate at times and that in return, she could have been less erratic, but one thing was certain: he loved his girlfriend and the beautiful daughter she had given him. He even aspired to a beautiful connection similar to his sisters' and their husbands. A proposal was imminent as soon he gathered the courage to do so. 

Proposal that would never take place as the Fates had decided otherwise. Maddie died from laughter on Winterfest day as she was tending to their daughter, Grace, and her cousin. It is unclear what repercussions witnessing death would have on those children, but it was clear that Daniel had become Grace's sole protector. He had no idea how to be a single father, but the love and support of his family helped soothe his loss.

The Calm Before the Storm

Today felt like the perfect day for an outing to the Oasis Springs' diner before Katlyn's second pregnancy comes to fruition. Braydon will soon have a baby brother named Lucian~
