Arrival to Henford O Bagley

The single mom's adventure continues. Grace instantly fell in love with the natural beauty of Henford-on-Bagley, where earth and water mingled into a breathtaking scene, ideal for nurturing one's soul. She looked forward to picnics by the river and visiting the local village.

The thought of settling down in the region for a little while, at least until Zach's birthday, even crossed her mind. Although she had no need for money, she considered working remotely as a critic for a travel magazine as a way to anchor and record her adventures.

Little did she know, Finchwick Village, nestled along the River Bagley, was full of opportunities and charming villagers who held their historical town close to their hearts. She mingled with the locals and tourists alike at Finchwick's weekly fair and acquainted herself with the mayor and shop owners, all of whom had need of an occasional helper.

She volunteered to assist a few local businesses whenever she could. It didn’t take long for the villagers to notice a new face. They were all very welcoming, including Malakai, the grocery shop owner. He was a little younger than she was, but surprisingly already successful and passionate.

Henford-on-Bagley was truly a breath of fresh air—quite literally. Grace had never been much of a country girl, but perhaps this was the perfect opportunity for her to fall in love with the great outdoors and become part of an amazing community. She may be too squeamish to ever dream of running a farm —like many of the locals did— and terrible at cooking, but she could certainly get her feet wet and her hands dirty for the sake of self-discovery.

The thought of settling down grew more and more appealing.

As if things couldn't get any better, Malakai, the grocery shop owner, stopped by her cottage, on his way to the village on a stormy morning, to check on her and bring her a care package on behalf of the whole village as a proper welcome gift.

Grace was touched by the gesture and in awe of how wholesome both the region and its residents were.

She also could have sworn that Malakai was a little flirtatious on his way out. Her sleepwear may have been to blame, but to be fair, she wasn’t expecting any visitors in a million years! Either way, she was flattered by the attention. If only he was actually her type... and maybe—just maybe— a little older...!
