Road marker: Chestnut Ridge
With more than enough revenue from alimony and child support, Grace finally had the courage to quit her job as a journalist and embark on the adventure of her life with her pride and joy: her son, Zach. Although the itinerary wasn’t entirely clear, visiting Chestnut Ridge had always been on her bucket list.
The trip took a couple of hours by road, and they arrived in the early hours of the evening.
Little Zach had earned some well-deserved rest while his mom relaxed in the hot tub, soaking in the tranquility of Galloping Gulch, a region of Chestnut Ridge well known for its gorgeous trails and stunning outlooks. She leaned into the warm embrace of the steam, eyes shut, tuning in to her surroundings and letting the soothing murmur of Galloping Gulch’s waterfall wash away any doubts or thoughts of what her life could have been. Perhaps this trip was merely a metaphor for her healing journey.
The following days were full of exploration and fun for both of them. Their cabin’s location was fully off the grid, with very few sims around. They visited the creek, looked for slimy frogs, made up silly songs by the campfire, and before long, it was already time to get back on the road.
Next destination: Henford-on-Bagley.
