Not To Say Family
Grace had officially been back in the saddle for the past sim few months, quite literally. She spent several nights in Malakai’s company, each one starting and ending exactly the same as their first encounter. Although she set a few boundaries regarding her son’s perception of their relationship, she avoided labeling any of it, assuming Malakai was okay with keeping it casual as well.
She felt like a rebellious teenager all over again—sneaking around at night with her lover, making sure he was gone by morning, only to slip back into her responsible, motherly role throughout the day.
Zach, her little boy, was not so 'little' anymore, and Grace was determined to shield him from any false hope of a father figure.
Not to imply that Malakai would make a terrible father—on the contrary. He had joked about wanting many kids in the future, along with a committed relationship. He had also proven to be a natural with children through his interactions with Zach.
Watching him indulge her son's whims of playing shopkeeper always warmed her heart. And quite frankly, she could get used to that feeling of togetherness—not to say 'family'—and it terrified her.
What was even more terrifying was the prospect of another pregnancy after she seemingly lost her lunch out of nowhere. It couldn't be—not again! As witty as she was, she wouldn't know what to do if the pregnancy test came back positive...
